MLK Celebration Scholarship

In honor of  “The Dream” of Martin Luther King Jr., the MLK Celebration Committee is offering a scholarship for up to $5,000 to help cover the costs associated with attending a four-year college or university.

 

It is our desire to support and partner with Sacramento-area ethnic churches to financially assist deserving multicultural, multi-ethnic students who attend and benefit from a four-year college or university education. Previous recipients have attended the following colleges and universities: Texas Southern University, University of Utah, UCLA, Biola University, Trinity Western University, Cairn University, San Diego Christian College, CSU-Sacramento, Pepperdine, Oral Roberts University, UC Irvine, and many others. Here are a few of our recipients of the 2015-2016 MLK Celebration Scholarship.

 

The MLK Celebration Scholarship is an intended financial award for 2016 graduating high school seniors who are hopeful for enrollment for the fall 2017 semester.

To be considered as a candidate for the MLK Scholarship, you must apply for and gain admission to a four-year college or university.

 

To apply for the MLK Scholarship, the APPLICATION and an essay must be completed and submitted by the due date. Please mail the application to:

The postmark for the submission can be no later than May 15, 2017.

 

Recipients will be contacted as decisions are made.

The amount of the award is to be dispersed according to what is agreed upon between you and the institution.The MLK Scholarship check will be made payable and sent directly to the Financial Aid Office of the four-year school of your choice.

 

The MLK Scholarship is good for your first year only.
